We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. Just a couple of suggestions, hope you find them useful ^_^
I'd recommend blurring the edges of the form a bit.. just because In real life outlines are never really perfectly defined.
Also, if you're going for realism, consider the surrounding lighting and how that would affect the picture. Unless the background is pitch black, there will always be some ambient lighting, which will be seen in a sort of blue-grey glow in this case. If you look at realistic paintings, there are some pretty unusual colours mixed in. You'll find greys and blues on skin tones, tan colours on black.. etc etc. Try taking a photo of a person, then go on photoshop and sample the colours of different bits of the photo.
